Today we left Amsterdam and moved onto the accommodation in Maasmechelen. We didn't need to collect the hire car until 12 so we had a leisurely morning and a late breakfast.
We collected the car from Schiphol, managed to fit the luggage in the car and
we were on our way.
The journey was a couple of hours mostly on motorway and we had a lunch stop at
Burger King which was a variable experience.
Our accommodation was just in Belgium with a view over the Meuse River which forms the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.
The owner showed us round the house which had a ground floor bedroom, and attic
bedroom and a kitchen on the middle floor.
We bought some food at the local Aldi and had a light tea at the house. After
tea we sat out in the small outside courtyard and then had a short walk around the area.
There is a bar/restaurant next door but it's closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
We were tired so we had an early night.
